Oh là là - we're in Paris!

Absolute has been providing life-changing experiences for 10 years now. We wanted to spread some love for our anniversary, so we’re launching a new Summer Internship Program!

To do that, we chose a very special location for us. One of Absolute Internship's founders, Aurèlie, is originally from France and has lived in the capital in the past. Moreover, most of our staff have been to Paris and have experience and connections in the city.

What is it about Paris that makes it the most visited city in the world? The French capital is a city of immense global opportunity, where many firms are looking for talented, young professionals in numerous industries. Paris combines the beauty of both the ultra-modern and the classic – from the glass Pyramid of Musée du Louvre to the medieval styles of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris. It’s the city of love. It’s one of the most filmed places in the world. It’s home to many company headquarters, and it’s geographically located in the center of Europe!

Here are 8 reasons for Paris' popularity:

1. Paris is a hub for networking

Many headquarters of big companies are hosted in the French capital. Meaning, the city is full of influential people. For example, within the fashion industry you'll find Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Christian Dior, LVMH or L'Oréal; in  the automobile industry, Citroën, Peugeot or Renault; within finance, BNP Paribas and AXA Group.

One of the key benefits of going abroad and working in an international environment is networking. Keep in touch with your colleagues, supervisors and people you meet along the way, even after your internship in Paris. We promise you, these contacts will be useful in the future career.

2. Endless internship opportunities

Paris is known for welcoming more than 300.000 students from around the globe every year. Internships in Paris are currently in high-demand: business development, marketing and PR, event management and design are some of the most popular fields. The strongest, and most competitive industry, is obviously fashion, where thousands of interns participate in the preparation of one of the biggest fashion weeks in the world.

3. French cuisine and the food culture

You have two options: going local by trying all the delicious french pastries from adorable bakeries, very finesse meals (Soupe à l’oignon, Coq au vin, Cassoulet, Ratatouille, Chocolate soufflé); or embracing the food diversity of the city - try Indian, Chinese, Armenian or even American.

Don't forget that France is one of the best wine producers in the world!

4. A new culture & beautiful architecture

Visit and learn from some of the most remarkable museums in the world, such as Museé de Louvre, Musée d'Orsay and Musée Rodin. These sights attract millions of foreigners every year.

Our favourite part of interning in Paris is exploring the city! From the famous Eiffel Tower, to the Sacré-Coeur in the artsy neighborhood of Montamartre, to the art in the bohemian Parisian streets, the impressive architecture won´t leave you unmoved.

5. The most ideal location on the map

Paris is geographically located in the middle of Europe which allows for quick 2 hour flights to visit other European capitals. Even if you're on a budget, no need to worry. Travelling within Europe is very cheap!

6. How is your French?

French is one of the most widely spoken languages. This internship will allow you to take your French skills to the next level! If you haven't had the opportunity to learn this beautiful language, we encourage you take the leap! Your CV will look 10 times better.

7. Explore the most famous cinema scenes

Once you get to Paris, you may feel that you've already been in this amazing city. Many comedy and romantic movies are filmed in spots such as Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, the Tour Eiffel, Sacré-Coeur, Montmartre and Notre Dame de Paris.

They're iconic landmarks so don't miss out!

8. The Parisian lifestyle

Be prepared to enjoy the best social life, especially in summer. Make sure you check out the atmosphere along the Seine river and the Éphémères bars. Take the metro - this is the best way to move around the city! Make the most out of the public holidays that France has to offer and visit other nearby destinations. Go shopping and discover the local, affordable brands that you won't find abroad, such as Sézane, MajeYou or Comptoir des Cotonniers - you will soon start dressing like a Parisian!
